Overdose Awareness Day

We're excited to have our own homes! Not easy to procure in this real estate market, but God is good! August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day. We remember many loved ones who have lost their life, mostly due to substance use disorder. Recovery housing has an important role of providing a safe place among peers to practice the new behaviors taught during rehab and other inpatient treatment. We couldn't be more excited to get to work on this beauty! 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a full basement, plus detached garage (aka winter smoking hut?!). It's estimated over100 years old....it has stood the test of time and will graciously welcome up to 8 men at a time to continue the healing process, all "on their way home".

How beautiful Barb. What meaningful work you are doing. Did you make the Rejection and Love Quilt? I hope we get to visit one day when things return to normal. It is amazing what you have been able to accomplish.

Thanks, Carole! Hopefully we will see you in October, God willing! No, I did not make the quilt pictured in the Rejection and Love Post...we have some committed quilters creating our quilts! They're on our website, but I'll post photos of them here on Facebook!
