Meet Our Board

Barbara Isemann
Director of Partnerships & Development
Barb's background is in academic pharmacy. She retired in 2018, but answered the community’s request to start this nonprofit. She has depended a lot on the board and OneSource Center for Nonprofit Excellence to gain the skills needed to direct this company.
Persons struggling with SUDs face huge barriers to getting their lives back on track. Recovery housing made the difference for my daughter. She believes that everyone deserves the second chance opportunity that recovery housing provides.

Robert Isemann
Founder
Bob has been a registered pharmacist since 1980 and his first professional job was in a methadone clinic. He has always had an interest in addiction services.
He has supported his wife, Barb, in the founding of this nonprofit for what it means to others like our daughter. He continues to choose to put his energies into On Our Way Home because recovery housing is key to long-term sobriety and re-entry into society. Bob enjoys working alongside our residents on the various projects that OOWH offers. He gets great satisfaction in giving back to others in life.

Karen Vanover
Board Chairperson
Karen's background and degree are in accounting. With over thirty years in the field, she brings that experience to the organization. Karen has been lucky enough to work with our founders, Barb and Robert Isemann, in a variety of capacities from cleaning the homes to facilitating some of the organizing of the nonprofit. Karen lost her oldest son, Zachary, to heroin and fentanyl overdose. A crushing experience that any parent can imagine. He was at his most positive during his time in recovery housing. She feels lucky to be a part of helping provide that opportunity to others.

Marcie Isemann
Peer Support
Marcie Isemann has been a part of On Our Way Home from its inception. She works as a program manager at a company that serves individuals with disabilities. Marcie lives in Anderson Township with her husband and two dogs. She is super excited to have just had
her first son, who was born in May 2024.
Marcie is in recovery herself, and when she was looking for a recovery house there was only one that existed in her area. Marcie sees the huge need for recovery homes and support and is proud to be a part of an organization that helps serve people in need.

Lori Angel
Events
Lori is a retired nurse, she worked in the hospital for 40+ years. Her background is cardiac and intensive care.
Lori is here because addiction has surrounded
her life. In recent years she lost a nephew from
a fentanyl overdose and recently watched
another nephew go through a liver transplant
due to alcoholism. While her experience with
nonprofit is limited, Lori's experience with
human touch, healing, recognition and
empathy is vast.

Larry Weber
IT, Gardening
Larry has degrees in Information Technology and Business Administration. He has spent his entire career in various IT fields, but he can now be found gardening, landscaping, performing home improvement, and working out. I also have a part time job at a golf
course, besides volunteer work with OOWH.
Larry joined OOWH because he has friends and acquaintances who have kids going through recovery and/or death, due to drugs. He has also performed volunteer work in a parish’s summer festival committee. Larry finds volunteer work to be very rewarding.

Tara Plymesser

On Our Way home holds a special place in Tara's heart due to having her own lived experience. After sobriety she started her profession in Peer Support to assist those going through some of the same barriers she once went through. Tara then went on to acquire her CDCA, RA and QBHS. With that being said, she knows that with the help of peers ,and having a safe place to stay, that individuals in recovery can succeed! On Our Way Home is the perfect place to start a fresh sober way of life!!
